Tekken 8 Roger Jr. Hops In This November, and Baki’s Yujiro Hanma Is Coming to Wreck Everyone

Tekken 8’s next DLC fighter is Roger Jr., the boxing kangaroo, who hops onto the roster in November, and Bandai Namco closed out his gameplay trailer at EVO France with a first look at Yujiro Hanma from Baki the Grappler, who looks like he bench presses lorries for a warm-up.

So Season 3 now has a joke character and a terrifying anime crossover lined up back to back, which is about as Tekken as it gets. Let me explain what’s coming and when!

When Can You Actually Play Roger Jr.?

Owners of the Season 3 Character Pass get early access first, with everyone else following a few days later, though the exact dates depend on where you’re reading from. Gematsu lists 11 November for pass holders and 16 November for everyone, while Push Square and Inven Global have 12 and 17 November, which almost certainly comes down to time zones.

  • Season 3 Character Pass early access: 11 or 12 November 2026, depending on region
  • General release: 16 or 17 November 2026, depending on region
  • Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam
  • Costumes shown: his default gloves and trunks, plus a resort-style outfit with a shirt and sunglasses

Quick TipBandai Namco hasn’t put a separate price on Roger Jr. in the announcement, so check your platform’s store and compare his solo price with the Season 3 pass before buying, especially if you want Yujiro too.

A Kangaroo in a Serious Fighting Game?

Yes, and honestly, it’s tradition, because the Tekken series has never been above throwing a boxing kangaroo, a boxing dinosaur or a couple of bears into a game that otherwise takes its family drama extremely seriously. Roger Jr. joins Kunimitsu and Bob, who have already arrived as part of Season 3, so there’s a nice mix of fan favourites coming back rather than just brand-new faces.

Whether he’s actually any good competitively is a question for the pros once he’s out, but I’d wager a lot of players will pick him for one reason only… it’s a kangaroo that punches people!

Is Yujiro Hanma the Scariest Guest Fighter Yet?

He might be, because the brief reveal at the end of the trailer showed off his red hair, ridiculous build and a full split between two chairs, which is a very specific flex. According to Inven Global, he’s the final Season 3 character, and his proper trailer is being saved for the Tekken World Tour Finals on 17 January 2027.

Push Square says he’s due to arrive in the winter, but there’s no firm date or price yet, so don’t go clearing your diary just yet. It does make sense as a pick though, because Baki is a franchise that’s basically just “what if every fight was a Tekken cutscene?”

Is the Tekken 8 Season 3 Pass Worth It?

If you’re still playing regularly, Roger Jr. plus Yujiro is a fun pair to round off the season, and grabbing the pass gets you the early access days too. If you only dip into Tekken 8 now and then, I’d wait for Yujiro’s full reveal in January and see how both characters actually play before spending anything, because a fighter you never main is just a very expensive costume.

Bandai Namco has had a cracking month, mind, with Ace Combat 8 flying off shelves as well, so if you missed it, here’s our take on Ace Combat 8 hitting 1 million sales, no kangaroos involved, sadly!
